The place on Vees Drive

The casino is at 201-553 Vees Dr., Penticton, BC V2A 8S3, next to the South Okanagan Events Centre. If you know the Events Centre, you know where to go. The site is leased from the City of Penticton, and Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited operates the casino.

Vees Drive became its home in 2017. Before the move, the city's casino had spent about 15 years at the Lakeside Resort. The new building was an 11-month, $25-million project with 45,000 square feet of entertainment space. It also had Gateway's first MATCH rooftop patio.

For guests with disabilities, the casino is an accessible place to visit. On request you can get communication supports, accessible formats and wheelchairs, so speak to staff when you arrive.

    • Entry starts at 19, the legal gambling age in British Columbia, and you must show valid government-issued photo ID. Staff can ask to see that ID again at any moment during your visit.
    • Security runs the ID through a scanner and compares it with a list of people who may not enter, people in Game Break among them. Nothing personal stays in the system for anyone admitted.
    • Photo ID that works includes a driver's licence from B.C. or North America, a B.C. Identity Card or a B.C. Services Card. A passport from Canada or abroad, a Canadian permanent resident card, a status card (Secure Certificate of Indian Status) and foreign ID from a government also count.
    • Bags and parcels may be searched at entry. Illegal drugs, weapons and outside alcohol are not allowed.
    • No formal dress code is published, but clothing, accessories or signs Gateway considers gang-related or otherwise inappropriate mean no entry. Inside, you may not take photos, film or live stream without authorization.

    The Encore Rewards card

Encore Rewards is the casino's membership card, handled at the Guest Services desk. Membership is free, and the card is issued there once you show valid ID. This guide covers how to get it, not what the card does. Anyone enrolled in BCLC's Game Break self-exclusion program is refused entry to the casino, card or no card.
